I'm Andrew, I help people get better—and more comfortable—at interviewing.

WHY HIRE AN INTERVIEW COACH?

Because even the smartest people get better faster with coaching. Listen to Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, explain why.

"The one thing people are never good at is seeing themselves as others see them. A coach really, really helps".

No one can see their own blindspots. No writer is their own best editor. A good coach will help you get better in ways you can't!

I've been a coach since the beginning of 2015. I've coached clients in all areas and industries who are competing for highly competitive, 6-figure jobs in tech, banking, medicine, finance, government, and more. And I've coached at all levels—from students looking for a summer internship all the way up to VPs. Everyone has something to be gained by a seeing the world from the perspective of a coach.

Andrew was great and had very specific advice for me. He was extremely attentive to my answers and often had good feedback about all parts of my responses. It’s been extremely helpful during practice to have this feedback in the back of my head. I believe it has improved my interview skills greatly. He was great. Even reminded me when I needed to schedule my interview prep meetings. The experience was just wonderful.

I have offers on the way for both jobs I applied for. Andrew taught me how to better prepare and how to respond to questions more effectively.
— S.P.
I had a great session with Andrew. He gave me very structured and focused feedback on areas I wanted to discuss. He was great to talk to and went through all problems systematically.

Andrew, I just came back from the final interview with [a top bank] last night, and I would like to share the good news with you. I want to thank you for the two lessons we had as the company extended me the offer right on the spot. Your suggestions have really helped me to strengthen my interview skills and boost up my confidence.
— I.X.
I’m happy to say that I’ve accepted a senior product management role with Facebook. After many failed interviews, working with Andrew improved my interviewing skills to be at the same level in which I work. Immediately after receiving his feedback, I successfully got the offer. Thank you for invaluable service you provide.

FAQS:

Q: What is the coaching like? How does it work?

Coaching is generally done in two meetings of 90 minutes each. There are 3 steps:

  1. We meet (usually over Google Hangouts), I assess your target job, skills, and experience. Then, we jump into a mock interview where I'll ask you several questions specifically designed to mimic a real interview.

  2. I give you live feedback, we talk about ways to improve your performance, and we do a second round.

  3. After the session I send you notes, specific preparation advice, and we plan for our  for second session.

Q: What do I get out of it?

During each session, you'll receive detailed, spontaneous feedback from me about your performance, phrasing, body language, and word choice. After every session, you will get:

  1. Comprehensive notes on all the questions/answers covered in the mock interviews.

  2. Link to a recording of the session (observing yourself in action is no fun, but super effective).

  3. Specific, targeted homework assignment.

  4. My proprietary "cheat sheets" full of tips for answering common types of interview questions.

Q: It's kind of expensive. Do you have any sort of guarantee?

If you aren't happy, you don't pay—my business is primarily referral-based, and I care that you think it’s worth it. I can't guarantee that you'll get the job (that's up to you!), but I absolutely guarantee that the sessions are useful and worth the investment. If you're interviewing for a job that pays $100,000, then $500 is just a half of a percent of your annual salary. If my coaching helps you get the job or negotiate a better offer, it's money well-spent.

Plus, coaching won't just be useful in an interview—it's an investment in your communication skills in general. After the sessions you'll be more confident about selling yourself and your ideas, something that'll happen nearly every day of your life. Said Ben Franklin: "If a man empties his purse into his head no one can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

Q: Do you offer any sort of finder's fee if I refer you clients?

Yes. I'll pay $25 per referral if you refer a friend or coworker who purchases a coaching package.

Q: Do you do any other sort of coaching besides interview coaching, like general career coaching?

Yes. Contact me for more details and for custom arrangements.
